How You Can Help

Become a Volunteer

Becoming a volunteer will give you the oppertunity to work with nature. You
will have a wealth of oppertunities to learn new skills such as planting trees,
coppicing, studying and monitoring the wildlife, and habitat and access
management.

Workdays are usually on the first Sunday morning in the month and Wednesday
mornings, and involve a variety of different tasks. These are a great way to
get out into nature and get stuck in.

Anyone with an interest in woodlands, conservation, wildlife, or any other
associated subject is encouraged to come along and volunteer. We welcome in
anyone that would like to help, and are grateful to all of our volunteers for
their time and effort.

Insurance Cover is provided when participating in Trust activities.

Become a Member

If you’re not able to take an active role, supporting the Trust by your Membership fee and encouraging others to join is equally as important.

Parts of the woodland at the moment are still privately owned although there are 3 Public rights of way. Members, being part of the ownership, have Right of Access to enjoy the woodland for quiet recreation, to explore and study, picnic, cycle and horse ride, subject to the Trust’s Policies. Camping and Bush-craft activities require our specific training and authorisation, to protect the habitat and its wildlife.

The general public do not have open right of access, although the trust allows people to walk and enjoy the woodland sensitively and as such, use the tracks and paths at their own discretion and risk.

Lighting fires, BBQ’s, camping and bush-craft activities are not permitted and are therefore unlawful.
